I recently upgraded my network speed to 1250 Mbps down / 50 Mbps up.
This makes it easier to run servers at home and offer services.
Even though my network is 1250 Mbps down, I can not use more than close to 1 Gbps, because that’s what my switch and all computers can handle. It does not make sense to upgrade my computers to 10 Gbps, so I just have to live with a loss of 300 Mbps.
It does not really matter that much, for the upgrade from 250 Mbps down / 15 Mbps up to the speed I have now only cost $34 /month
